A Jew said recently that Jews have a "right to be paranoid". Because of all the atrocities committed against Jews throughout history, because they feel the world is "after them", because they are killed and persecuted ... the Jews have become paranoid. During the Martin Indyk episode it came to our attention that the secretary of state of the United States is Jewish; the secretary of defense is Jewish; the former deputy secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs, Martin Indyk, the architect of the Iran sanctions policy and two-time ambassador to Israel, is Jewish; presidential candidate Al Gore's running mate, Joseph Lieberman, is Jewish; the U.S. national security advisor Sandy Berger... Is he Jewish, too? We live in a very unbiased world.
In a predominantly Christian country, the one "superpower" left in the world, Jews have a hand in every sensitive government post. And it's not only the government; all the major publishing houses, newspapers, magazines, and the entertainment industry in the United States are headed by Jews. Now, are we supposed to say, "Very good! You are right. Whatever you say is right.
You want to usurp Palestinian lands. That's OK. You want to take millions and billions of dollars for yourselves. That's OK, too.
You want to run the world, take any land you claim to be yours, you are after all, according to your Holy Book, the chosen people' ... all right. Because you are poor, historically persecuted Jews, having the right to be "paranoid", we'll let you rule the world from your own point of view, occupy it, usurp it, control it ... without any other point of view without any resistance.
Let us make one point clear. What is the difference between a Jew and a Zionist? A Jew is anyone who believes in and observes the Jewish religion.
A Zionist is one who believes that the Jews have a "right" to a "land of the Jews," a right to occupy it by force even though it tramples upon other peoples' rights. When we, in this newspaper, say "Zionist", this is what we mean. Not all Jews are usurpers.
There are Jews who are against Zionism. Many of the greatest intellectuals and artists in the world are Jews. We have due respect for them. Our message to Zionists is simply that the world does not belong only to Zionists. Other people exist, too.
Other people have rights, too. Others want to live, too. Isn't it our turn to be paranoid?
